New Rochelle Faces $7.6M Shortfall on Quaker Ridge Road Project

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (September 3, 2025) — The City of New Rochelle announced Tuesday that it will hold a presentation and a hearing on the Quaker Ridge Road upgrade project on Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chamber.

The hearing will provide an update on the project’s final design and the city’s proposed application for construction funding. The city is seeking funding to cover construction costs from federal, state and county partners.

In a letter dated August 14, 2025, City Manager Wilfredo Melendez told Members of the Quaker Ridge Road Complete Streets Project Committee that the total cost of the project was now much higher.
