Sunday Briefing: DDoS, Trooper Struck, Earthquake
Port Chester‘a major Promenade Project gets underwa.

This briefing draws from reporting at Talk of the Sound, analysis and commentary published in Words in Edgewise, and selected regional coverage for the week ending March 15, 2026

A Note from the Publisher

Some weeks can appear quiet on the surface even when a great deal of work is happening behind the scenes. Much of the reporting process involves research, document requests, interviews, and legal work that may take weeks or months before it becomes visible as a published story.

At the moment, a significant amount of time is devoted to ongoing investigative work and public records litigation. I currently have two Article 78 cases underway — one involving the City of New Rochelle and the Flowers Park RFP connected to the Bob Young proposal, and another involving the City School District of New Rochelle and the Shrub Oak matter. In addition, numerous Freedom of Information Law requests remain pending with agencies including the New York State Education Department, New Rochelle City Court, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood, CTCARES for Frontline Workers, the City of New Rochelle, the New Rochelle Police Department, and Westchester County.

Those efforts are only part of the work.

Following up on inquiries, maintaining the technical infrastructure that keeps the sites operating, and addressing security issues — including the recent distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack targeting Talk of the Sound — are also part of the weekly routine.

The reporting you see published each week reflects the visible outcome of that larger process.

Below is this week’s structured briefing.
