Arriving in Ireland on July 4, 2023.

DUBLIN, IRELAND (July 6, 2025) — My how time flies.

It has now been two years since Loli and I moved to Ireland. We left New York out of JFK on the evening of July 3, 2025 and arrived at Dublin Airport on July 4, 2025. We brought with us six duffel bags, some carry-on luggage and a large crate with Zeke burrowed inside. We have been living our best life ever since.

We lived out of an AirBnB next to Kilmainham Royal Hospital for two weeks, then moved to an apartment overlooking the River Liffey in the Liberties, then to an apartment across the street from the American Embassy in Ballsbridge.

The first two years have been filled with arts, culture, sports and journeys: rock concerts, trad sessions, opera, theatre, rugby and sightseeing throughout the island plus travel in Spain, Canary Islands, France, Germany, Italy, Vatican City, Austria, England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. We took two trips to the USA (and are planning a third in the fall).

We had loads of visitors including all four of our kids (all of whom have submitted applications for their Irish/EU citizenship). Loli is now in year three of her Irish Residency Permit; she can apply next summer for her Irish/EU citizenship. Loli has had her own adventures. She has become an accomplished artist with museum exhibits and arts shows. She traveled with our son to the Netherlands so she is one up on me.
