New Rochelle Ethics Board Releases Applications of 8 Candidates
NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 7, 2025) — The corruption involving the New Rochelle Board of Ethics is at the root of all my recent efforts to uncover records about its operations and the city’s handling of ethics disclosures. I complained long and loud when I learned of a conspiracy to meddle with the ethics decision I filed against Mayor Yadira Ramos in February 2024. The many twists and turns have revealed a co-opted, corrupted ethics board which is under criminal investigation. That has continued up until this day.
On Jan. 21, 2025, I submitted a Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) request for all public records related to then-recent changes to the New Rochelle Board of Ethics. I asked for resignation letters from Charles Phipps, David Blumenthal, and Michelle Oliveros, as well as communications between the administration, council members, and applicants for open board positions, including resumes and application forms.
